Ingredients

  • 2 peaches, sliced
  • 1 (4 oz) burrata cheese ball
  • 10 fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 10 sweet cherries, pitted
  • ½ pint blackberries
  • ½ pint raspberries
  • 2 tbsp fresh pomegranate seeds
  • 2 tbsp crushed pistachios
  • ¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • Juice of 1 fresh orange
  • 6 fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 6 fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 4 tbsp Partanna Orange extra virgin olive oil (or any citrusy EVOO)
  • Honey, to drizzle

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit:
In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the sliced peaches, pitted cherries, blackberries, raspberries, and pomegranate seeds.
  2. Add onion and herbs:
Toss in the thinly sliced red onion, chopped basil, and mint leaves.
  3. Make the dressing:
In a small bowl, whisk together the fresh orange juice and orange-infused olive oil. Pour over the fruit mixture and gently toss to coat.
  4. Plate the salad:
Divide the fruit mixture between two serving plates or bowls. Place half of the burrata cheese on each plate and scatter mozzarella pearls evenly.
  5. Top and garnish:
Sprinkle with crushed pistachios and a light drizzle of honey.
  6. Serve immediately, optionally with crusty bread or over a bed of baby greens for a fuller dish.

Notes

The Mediterranean Fruit Salad is a vibrant mix of juicy fruit, creamy cheese, fresh herbs, and a citrus-honey dressing—both refreshing and indulgent. Here are some great pairing options:

Main Course Pairings

  1. Grilled lamb chops with rosemary and garlic – the savory richness contrasts beautifully with the sweet, fruity salad
  2. Citrus-herb grilled chicken – keeps things light and bright while complementing the salad’s flavors
  3. Seared halibut or branzino – mild, flaky fish pairs perfectly with the fruit and creamy burrata
  4. Herbed quinoa-stuffed peppers – for a Mediterranean-inspired vegetarian pairing

Bread & Side Options

  1. Toasted ciabatta or focaccia – for scooping up cheese and juices
  2. Lavash or pita chips – adds crunch without overpowering the salad
  3. Lemon or za’atar couscous – a bright, herbaceous grain side

Wine & Beverage Pairings

  1. Rosé – dry or slightly off-dry, it complements the fruit and cheese beautifully
  2. Prosecco or Cava – light, bubbly, and citrus-friendly
  3. Sauvignon Blanc – crisp with herbal notes to match the mint and basil
  4. Sparkling water with a splash of pomegranate or orange juice – non-alcoholic and refreshing
