I’m so very excited to announce that for the second year in a row, Nino Salvaggio’s will participate in the Troy Rotary Viva La Vino Wine Tasting! It will take place Saturday, September 20th, from 6:30 to 10:30, with Opus One doing all the catering. The food will be better than ever, with the menu taking you round the world from Mediterranean and Greek-style dishes to classic American meat and potatoes. I had a fun time finding wines that pair well with the menu. Last year, we helped raise thousands for Troy youth, and this year our goal is to raise even more.
The Rotarians take pride in returning all the charitable contributions right back to the Troy community. Not only do they offer scholarships for Troy school students, donate money to the Boys and Girls Club, and contribute to Capuchin Kitchen, but they also contribute emergency necessities to Troy citizens in times of peril. The annual Viva La Vino Wine Tasting gives the community a chance to contribute monetarily to the Rotary Club through a silent auction, a live auction or wine purchases.
Speaking of wine, I have hand selected some of my favorite wines to showcase at this event. Taking the lead from Opus One, I have gone round the world from a racy Austrian Gruner Veltliner and a spicy Chilean Carmenere, bringing it back home with classic California Cabernets and stateside whites. 32 wines will be shown, and everyone will have the opportunity to taste wines that range in price from the everyday steal at $9 to the showstopper at $60. It’s also a perfect time to start thinking about what to serve for holiday parties and choosing the perfect gifts for the hard to impress.
I hope to see you at this incredible event. With delicious food, outstanding wines, and everything benefiting a great charity, this is not a night to miss! View the list of wines and purchase tickets on the Viva La Vino website.
Cheers!
