Everyone sees a ten-dollar bill! Who is on it? Who is Alexander Hamilton, and why is he on the ten-dollar bill? I don’t know much about Alexander Hamilton other than that he was the first United States Secretary of the Treasury and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.

Well, enough about that. Let’s get to the point here!

You’re throwing a party with family and friends, and you really don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on expensive wine. You have a ten-dollar bill in your pocket, and you’re trying to find the best wine to fit within your budget. Well, here we go! I call searching for that great wine for under ten dollars the Hamilton Hunt. Here are some great selections.

Gen 5 Ancestral Red 2014-$9.99

This wine is a delicious red, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Petite Syrah, Malbec and Merlot. It’s rich but not too heavy on the tannins and ends with a smooth, velvety finish.

B&G Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2015-$7.99

This is a fantastic bang for your buck! A delicately light wine with lemon and citrus notes, it’s a delicious accompaniment to seafood, aperitifs, and goat’s cheese.

McManis Petite Verdot 2015-$9.99

New at Nino’s and one of my personal favorites, this red, medium-bodied wine is full of blueberry and blackberry flavors, ending with a touch of mocha and a slight smokiness.

Borsao Garnacha 2014-$7.99

This is an outrageous, quality wine for the price. It keeps on delivering the same consistency year after year. It has the perfect price for cooking and is very tasty to drink, pairing well with red meats and sauces.
