The Nino Salvaggio Charitable Foundation for Children in Need will host its seventh fundraiser on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 7 p.m. until midnight. The benefit will be held at Andiamo’s Banquet Center located at 7096 E. 14 Mile Road in Warren. Nearly 400 people are expected to attend. The foundation historically has raised approximately $80,000 to assist regional nonprofit organizations focused on helping children in need.
“My father, the late Nino Salvaggio, founded the Nino Salvaggio Charitable Foundation for Children in Need with the belief that every child deserves a chance and a childhood,” said Andrea Nicolella, President of the Foundation and Vice President of Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace. “It’s easy to forget that something so common as having a roof over your head or being able to go away to summer camp is not a reality for many children. The Foundation provides a life-changing—and for some, even a life-saving—experience for those we reach.”
Three local charities are expected to benefit from the event, including the Pope John Paul XXIII Hospitality House; Families Against Narcotics; and Life Remodeled.
The Pope John Paul XXIII Hospitality House in Detroit primarily provides services for children with cancer, including housing during treatment and transportation to appointments.
The mission of Families Against Narcotics is saving lives by empowering individuals and communities to prevent and eradicate addiction. The organization seeks to remove the stigma associated with addiction through education. It also raises awareness of the growing problem of prescription painkiller abuse among all ages as well as the increased use of heroin by young people.
Life Remodeled is a non-profit organization that exists to remodel lives – one neighborhood at a time. They use holistic strategies to make dramatic and immediate impact in communities and to establish foundations for long-term sustainable growth and development. Its annual project includes remodeling a Detroit school each summer to help create academic and athletic improvements and to restore the school as a source of pride within the community. This summer it is remodeling Osborn High School and the surrounding neighborhood, located on Detroit’s east side.
Playing a mix of upbeat popular tunes, contemporary jazz and timeless Motown classics, live entertainment will be provided by the band, DTour. Silent auction items include signed and unsigned sports memorabilia, jewelry, hotel stays, wine baskets, restaurant gift certificates and much more.
A strolling menu prepared by the culinary team at Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace and Andiamo Banquet Center will be served. Guests also will enjoy a premium bar, raffles and great company.
Tickets are $100 and can be ordered by clicking here. Dressy casual attire is requested. All proceeds go directly to children in need. No administrative or executive costs are accepted by any member of the Nino Salvaggio Charitable Foundation for Children in Need.
