Sharing my thoughts, ideas, recipes and reviews with all of you throughout 2015 was, once again, a lot of fun.

I must say that as each year has gone by, I’ve gotten to know the kinds of articles you’ve enjoyed reading the most and which you’ve kindly shared with others. I’ve also enjoyed your feedback.

My blogs (per usual) have been a mix of monthly and seasonal culinary-related topics seasoned with a healthy mix of random observations, all of which I hope you find interesting and useful.

Before I run down the top 10, I must say I’m pleased to know that you’ve enjoyed my monthly restaurant reviews. Four of my top 10 blogs of 2015 were restaurant reviews, and that was VERY satisfying.

I’ve especially enjoyed writing these review blogs because of my lifelong connection with the restaurant business as a chef, corporate chef, and now, quasi-journalist. My perspective is a unique one, I think.

So, which blogs did all of you (collectively) read the most this past year? I was curious, so we once again ran the numbers.

The results were interesting, and one in particular totally shocked me.

The 1st, 3rd, 4th and 10th most-read blogs of 2015 were reviews of the following restaurants. If you’d like to read any of these reviews, just click on their names.

# 1 Triple Nickel Restaurant (Birmingham)

# 3 Mable Gray Restaurant (Hazel Park)

# 4 Steve & Rocky’s Restaurant (Novi)

# 10 Chartreuse Restaurant (Detroit)

The second most-popular blog of 2015 was one I enjoyed eating as much as writing, and it brought back a lot of childhood memories in the process. Coming in at # 2 was In Search of the Perfect Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

The fifth most-read blog of 2015 was also the sixth most-read of 2014. It’s the annual Turkey Roasting Tips I send out each fall, and it came in at # 5.

What is Gremolata? Well, I guess you really DID want to know? I have to be honest with you; this one really took me by surprise when I saw it listed as # 6 on the top 10 printout. I did a double take. So…what is gremolata? Click and find out.

Two years ago, Nino’s began a weekend-long celebration of international foods. This year marked its second year, so we let you know all about it in the # 7 most-read blog of 2015, our 2nd Annual Nino’s International Taste Fest.

What Is It About Salmon? Apparently enough to make it # 8 on the list of top 10 blogs of 2015. It seems that people not only enjoy salmon but enjoy reading about it too. I suppose the great recipes didn’t hurt either.

Coming in at # 9 was an article entitled 3 Nuts, 3 Recipes, 3 Cookies featuring 3 NEW recipes using 3 of my favorite nuts, almonds, pecans and pistachios. I timed these recipes to come out during the holiday season so that you might be tempted to try them. I’m guessing a lot of you did. I know that the office staff here at Nino’s enjoyed the batches I made while writing that blog.

I think they may be hoping I write a similar blog on lobster the same time this year.

There you have it! Another year in the books, and I’m on to new, exciting topics and reviews for 2016. If you missed some of my blogs and are interested in perusing the topic lists from past years, they’re all archived on Nino’s website right on my blog page.

I wish you all a healthy, safe and prosperous New Year.
