The flags are up, the decorations are glowing, and now it’s time to celebrate Nino Salvaggio’s third annual International Taste Fest. This event is always a great time for everyone, and it’s always a fun way to taste and drink your way through almost every different country you can think of. So please come hungry, my friends.
This year, the wine department will be representing the wines of South Africa from the Robertson Winery.
It all started in 1853 in the Western Cape province of South Africa, located in Robertson Valley and named after Dr. William Robertson, a Scottish minister. In 1941, the Robertson Winery started in an old missionary chapel. Even though I have never been there, I have heard that South Africa is absolutely breathtaking, with its beautiful sun-drenched mountain vineyards, and you get to have a little taste of these delicious wines from their native land.
Robertson Chardonnay $7.99
Melon and peach aromas with a creamy and nutty taste. Fresh, with a clean ending.
Robertson Cabernet Sauvignon $7.99
Blackberry and plum aromas with a mulberry, cinnamon and cassis taste. Ending with a silky and soft finish.
Robertson Chenin Blanc $7.99
Kiwi and lime aromas. Delicate, soft, and ripe. A delicious accompaniment to salmon.
I am so excited for you to try these wines. I hope you can join us this week.
Cheers,
Simone
