Whew!!! Today was a hot one!
Is it really the middle of August already? Where is the summer going?
In my mind, the perfect summer is enjoying a speedy boat ride and entertaining with friends by the pool on a hot summer night, or enjoying the tasteful aroma of a nice, juicy steak on the grill while Bob Marley plays in the background. Now, that seems like a good enough reason to open a delicious bottle of wine and toast to the season. I hope you can enjoy these wine selections, as I have so far, this summer.
H.B Picpoul Pinet 2015
I fell in love with this wine a couple of years ago while vacationing in South Carolina. I found it very dry and crisp with notes of lemon and dried pineapple and just a touch of sea salt. This is a must with your Oyster Rockefeller or even with a light salad.
Ame Du Vin Rose 2016
Rose is the quintessential summer wine and perfect for a picnic on the beach. The Ame Du Vin Rose “Soul of wine” is my favorite rose from the Cotes De Provence in southeastern France. It exhibits fresh apricot and citrus flavors, ending with a light, delicate finish.
Lodali Moscato d’Asti 2016
From the Piedmont region of Italy!
Without overdoing it, this Moscato is delightfully sweet and loaded with fresh fruit flavors of peach and tangerine. It would pair deliciously with light, fruity desserts.
Cheers to summer and keep enjoying!
