Bewitching Main Dishes

Whether you are hosting a Halloween themed dinner party for adults or a festive pre-trick or treating night for families, make your main course the star of the night with dishes that balance comfort and creativity. Think creamy butternut squash soup served in mini pumpkins, pasta tossed with our house-made Nino’s Italian sausage, or maple-glazed chicken paired with roasted root vegetables. Seasonal ingredients from our produce market make it easy to serve up something special—no spells required. Looking for something a bit more Halloween themed?

Here are some of our favorite Halloween themed dinner ideas from Nino Salvaggio’s

Spooky Supper Night
Turn your table into a haunted feast — think black tablecloths, orange napkins, spider web accents, and flickering candles. Serve dishes with “creepy” names and eerie presentations.

Monster Mash Family Feast
Dress up as classic monsters and have a themed dinner. Play a monster soundtrack and serve “ghoulash,” “mummy dogs,” and “Frankenstein punch.”

Pumpkin Patch Picnic (indoors or out)
Set up pumpkins as your centerpiece and serve cozy fall foods like roasted pumpkin soup, caramel apples, and apple cider. Check out our tasty and creative caramel apples, one of our most anticipated treats of the year here at Nino’s! We start with crisp Granny Smith apples, dip them in rich, buttery caramel and finish them with toppings like peanuts, M & M’s, pecans, colorful sprinkles, toasted almonds, oreos, pretzels and more! These make great Halloween table decorations and take home goodies!

Witches’ Cauldron Cook-Off
Each family member brings a dish with a spooky twist—like “potion pasta,” “bat wing” chicken tenders, or “bloody” marinara. You can definitely be the winning witch by bringing out a hearty fall recipe from our Founder’s Daughter recipes such as Pasta Alla Giuseppe  or Pasta Al Forno.

Chili Hot Dog Bar

A fan favorite, this Halloween let Nino’s help you set up a DIY chili dog station with all the fixings:

  • Hot dogs or Sausages: classic beef, turkey, or veggie dogs, or Nino’s Sausages
  • Buns: toasted, pretzel, or “mummy-wrapped” (in crescent dough)
  • Chili: regular and spicy versions in slow cookers labeled “Potion No. 1” and “Potion No. 2”
  • Toppings:
    • Shredded cheese (“Creepy Cobwebs”)
    • Diced onions (“Werewolf Tears”)
    • Jalapeños (“Dragon Scales”)
    • Sour cream (“Ghost Goo”)
    • Corn chips or crushed tortilla chips (“Monster Crunch”)

Add a side of spooky slaw (purple cabbage + carrots for Halloween color) or bloody baked beans (BBQ-style).

Loaded Baked Potato Bar

A loaded baked potato bar is a great option on Halloween night. Offer baked russet and sweet potatoes with fun toppings:

  • Chili (again!)
  • Broccoli + cheddar
  • Sour cream, chives, butter
  • Bacon bits
  • Pulled pork or shredded chicken
  • Hot sauce and ranch drizzle

Serve toppings in mini cauldrons or labeled jars for a fun look.

Pumpkin Patch Pizzas

Make individual mini pizzas shaped like pumpkins!

  • Use pre-made Nino’s pizza dough
  • Cut into pumpkin shapes (use a cookie cutter or freehand).
  • Add pizza sauce and cheese, then use pepperoni, olives, or peppers to make jack-o’-lantern faces.
  • Serve on a wooden board labeled “The Pumpkin Patch.”

Perfect for kids — and Instagram-worthy!

Witch’s Cauldron Pizza Dip

Serve a hot, cheesy pizza dip in a small black cauldron (or cast-iron dish).

  • Layer cream cheese, marinara, mozzarella, and pepperoni.
  • Bake until bubbly and serve with breadsticks or garlic knots as “witch wands.”
This works great alongside the chili dogs and potatoes as a sharable, gooey appetizer.

Mummy Pizzas

Make spooky “mummy faces” on English muffins, bagels, or flatbreads.

  • Use strips of mozzarella cheese for “bandages”
  • Add olive slices for eyes
  • Bake until melty and serve on a tray labeled “Mummy Munchies.”

Spider Web Pizza

Top a regular round pizza with thin sour cream or ranch “web” lines (pipe in a spiral, then drag a toothpick to create the web).
Add black olive “spiders” on top for extra spookiness.

Vampire-Safe Garlic Pizza Bread

Serve garlic cheese breadsticks cut into coffin or bone shapes alongside your chili dogs and potatoes. Label them “Vampire Protection Bread.”

Make It a Haunted Pizza Bar

If you want to go all out, add a mini build-your-own pizza station:

  • Use Nino’s pizza dough, flatbreads, pita, or naan
  • Bowls of toppings: pepperoni “eyeballs,” olive “spiders,” green pepper “snakes,” mozzarella “ghosts”
  • Let everyone decorate their own spooky pie before baking

Dessert & Drinks

The candy will be flowing on Halloween, there is no doubt about it. But creep beyond the candy and serve your guests some desserts they will not be scared of this Halloween!

  • Dessert
    • Ghost S’mores Dip or brownie “graveyard” with cookie tombstones
    • “Monster” milkshakes or root beer floats with vanilla or pumpkin ice cream
    • Visit our bakery department for a slice of fall. Whether you are choosing our pumpkin pie, pumpkin coffee cakes or our delicious pumpkin logs, our pumpkin desserts will be a hit at your Halloween bash!
    • Our unique pumpkin log is a soft, spiced pumpkin cake wrapped around a silky cream cheese filling, then finished with a dusting of powdered sugar. Toasted nuts add the perfect crunch, making every bite a balance of creamy, nutty and warmly spiced flavors.
  • Drinks
    • Blake’s Apple cider with cinnamon sticks, served in mason jars
    • “Bloody” punch (cranberry juice + Sprite + orange slices)
    • Blake’s Hard Apple Cider is a great drink for the adults at your Halloween party!
