Like grade-schoolers ready for recess, we are all on the edges of our seats impatiently awaiting spring’s arrival. The hams and lambs have been ordered in the Meat Department, fluffy chicks and bunnies adorn the Floral Department, and even the Nino’s Bunny Costume has been pressed and made ready for its closeup. If only the weather would catch up! In the meantime, I have compiled a list of wines that scream spring and will make your Easter Sunday meals sing!

1. MoscaMango Mango Moscato Cocktail, Italy $11.99

Brunch anyone? This brand-new-to-Nino’s item is flying off the shelves, and after just one intoxicating whiff, you’ll see why! Made with real mango pulp and sparkling Moscato wine, this sweet and fruity wine cocktail will put a smile on your face. For fun, unique recipes!

2. Sokol Blosser Evolution Willamette Valley Oregon- $14.99

Ever since I went to Oregon Pinot Camp, I can’t help but push their lovely, elegant wines. This wine is on special through the end of the month, with a regular price of $17.99. Evolution is a proprietary blend of nine different white wine varieties, and since its birth in 1998, it’s had wine lovers coming back to it again and again. Soft and complex, with tropical tree fruit notes, this eccentric white pairs beautifully with spicy Asian cuisine or Easter ham.

3. Lieu-dit Cocagne Coteaux Du Vendomois Rosé, France $9.99

I had yet to try, or even hear of, Pineau D’Anus when this pretty, rose-colored starlet crossed my lips, but now I will forever remain a fan. Raspberry, red cranberry and pink citrus are all present with racy acidity on the finish. This wine will make a great accompaniment to either Easter brunch or those leftover ham sandwiches.

4. Bear Boat Pinot Noir Russian River, California $13.99

Until the end of March, we will be running a special on this outstanding Pinot Noir. The regular price is $23.99, and it is worth every penny. If your family is like mine, you will have both ham and lamb at your Easter meal, and this wine fits the bill. Pinots are known for their low tannins and spiced cherry bouquet. This one has that and more. Concentrated strawberry, red raspberry, and overtones of vanilla and baking spice make this a memorable wine.

5. Delas Ventoux, France 2011 $10.99

Soft, lush Grenache is blended with robust, smoky Syrah in this extremely drinkable Southern French red. It is aromatic with red plum, black cherry, strawberry and coffee notes. This will be terrific with spice-infused, flavorful lamb.

Remember, whether you are enjoying ham or lamb, or stuffing yourself with deviled eggs, we have a wine that will fit your Easter Sunday meal!
