This has been the winter with no end. Each morning, we wake up to our driveways full of powdery white snow. While peeking out my window and sipping my morning coffee, I daydream about hitting the slopes. I love the feel of the crisp wind hitting my cheeks as I fly down the hill. Nothing is better to warm me (and you) back up than a piping-hot coffee drink topped with a mountain of delicious whipped cream. My personal favorite coffee drink is the Spanish Coffee. Hot black coffee mixed with orange-flavored cognac and Kahlua warms me to my core. Whether you’ve been out plowing snow, making snow angels with the kids, or just wanting to reward yourself for getting home safely, here are some coffee cocktails that will get the chill out:

Canadian Breakfast

Like apple and honey, maple-flavored liquors are very popular. This hot drink makes you want to sit back, watch some hockey, listen to Rush and say, “Eh!”

Fresh Brewed Coffee
2 oz Cabot Trail Maple Cream Liqueur
1 oz Crown Royal Maple Whiskey
Maple Syrup
Brown Sugar
Chocolate-Dipped Bacon for Garnish

Dip rim of coffee mug in maple syrup and roll in a plate of brown sugar. Add bourbon and maple cream. Stir in hot coffee.

Coffee Noir

This coffee drink is dark and sumptuous, much like the leading lady in a film noir.

1 ½ oz Grey Goose Cherry Noir
1/2 oz Disaronno Amaretto Liqueur
Espresso (or strong coffee)
Cream

Combine cherry vodka, Amaretto liqueur, and espresso. Stir. Top with cream and garnish with three small, chocolate-covered espresso beans.

Mint Chip Coffee

Though I’ll always go for rocky road at the ice cream shop, mint chocolate chip is an enduring favorite!

1 oz Peppermint Schnapps
1 oz Pinnacle Whipped Chocolate Vodka
Salvaggio’s Mackinaw Island Fudge Coffee
Whipped Cream
3 Mint Leaves

Combine vodka and Schnapps in a coffee mug. Pour in hot Mackinaw Island Fudge Coffee. Top with whipped cream. Chiffonade mint leaves and sprinkle them over the whipped cream.

King Kong Koffee

I’m going ape over this recipe! Banana, RumChata and coffee–so tasty!

2 oz RumChata
1 ½ oz Banana Rum
Hot Coffee
Whipped Cream
Nilla Wafer

Stir together RumChata and Banana Rum. Add fresh, hot coffee. Top with whipped cream and garnish with Nilla wafer.

It’s been a long, cold winter. Try to make the best of it by breaking up the monotony and trying one of these delicious coffee drinks!!!

Enjoy!
